ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court has granted former president Asif Ali Zardari bail on medical grounds in the fake bank accounts case.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah headed the bench conducted the hearing.
During the hearing, Asif Ali Zardari was directed by the IHC judge to submit surety bonds worth Rs 10 million.

Zardari is currently being treated in the PIMS hospital in Islamabad due to his unstable health condition. He is also finding it difficult to speak owing to a heart problem.
Earlier on 5th December, Zardari approached the IHC seeking bail on medical grounds in the fake bank accounts reference.
Zardari, in his petition, stated that he was suffering from a heart ailment and three stents were already placed in his body. His medical reports were also attached to his petition.

To this, the IHC directed the PIMS hospital to constitute a new medical board to examine the health condition of former president and adjourned the hearing until today.
