ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet spokespersons of the incumbent government to discuss Chief of Army Staff (COAS)’s extension case.
The meeting will be held in Islamabad at the Prime Minister House around 5 pm today.
During the visit, Prime Minister Imran Khan will give a guideline in this regard to the spokespersons on the Supreme Court’s verdict in Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa’s extension in a tenure case.
Supreme Court earlier on Thursday granted a six-month extension to army chief in his service tenure. Later, PM Imran Khan took to Twitter to air out his feelings over the newsworthy event that culminated in a 6-month extension of the current Chief of the Armed Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Mian Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel and Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah heard the case.
Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa in a verdict stated that the extension has been granted to General Qamar Javed Bajwa from 28th November.
CJP Khosa further stated that the court would examine the legislation after six months.
The COAS was scheduled to retire on 29th November 2019 but the premier Imran Khan extended his services for another three years which today has been turned down by the supreme court.
General Bajwa took command of the Pakistan Army on 29th November 2016 as the 16th Chief of Army Staff when the country had been fighting a fierce war against terror, and faced internal and external challenges.
